Despite not feeling well, Mark enjoyed his day. The kids each chose a card for him, Connor made an additional handmade one, he requested chicken cacciatore for dinner, favorite cookies and ice cream, and gifts. Ryan was also allowed to call him and to read a letter that each of the guys had written their fathers.
My friends told us that Ryan seemed more content this week so hopefully he'll be able to call us soon. Hard to believe it's been almost a month since he left. We are all anxious to see him.
Last week was also our 24th wedding anniversary. It really is hard to believe that many years have gone by!
Connor continues to love football practice. Each night he comes home and draws the plays he's learned that day into his notebook. That notebook goes to bed with him so he can study it a few more minutes before falling asleep! He and Kelleigh continue to be getting along well which is a nice change of pace. The pool has been used more this summer so far than it was all last year combined. We're definitely enjoying our slow mornings and sleeping in!
Mark starts teaching a summer class at Francis Parker next week which lasts two weeks. Things are stressful at work for him as the contract he works on is threatening to be cancelled. We're hoping that doesn't happen for obvious reasons!
