One of the highlights of Mark's job at Francis Parker was having "Newton" in his classroom. Newton is a HUGE red-eared slider turtle who is very entertaining to watch. Because the kids loved going to the classroom to feed Newton over the breaks, we decided we would get one of our own. When the staff found out that Mark was researching them, they offered to let us adopt him as it was difficult to find anyone willing to come in over the breaks and summer to take care of him. So today we bought his new habitat and had it ready to go for his arrival. He has been busy all evening checking out his new digs and rearranging the rocks on the bottom.
Awwwwww....he's cute! Much better than that nasty snake!
